From the recording Awakenings
Lyrics
We couldn’t find our way until we crashed like waves on the rocks unseen
Were they always waiting there?
Trust seemed lost and lines got crossed
But, somewhere on the horizon, from a glimmer rose a prayer
Our hearts confused by the darkness
Longing for the dawn
A distant flame
A burning memory
A fleeting beacon in the night to call us home
There is no blame
And, in its glow, I see two hearts yearning for the light and a ray of hope
In a distant flame
I thought that solitude would deny what I felt for you, but it lied
Can’t breathe without you near
You saw the light that turned a spark into a fight we could believe in
A blaze to drown the fear
Heart’s laid bare
No games
No refuge
Only love is truth
A distant flame
A burning memory
A fleeting beacon in the night to call us home
There is no blame
And, in its glow, I see two hearts yearning for the light and a ray of hope
In a distant flame
Passion is a fire that burns precious and eternal
Faith is love’s desire to believe when hope’s unsure
A distant flame
A burning memory
A fleeting beacon in the night to call us home
There is no blame
And, in its glow, I see two hearts yearning for the light and a ray of hope
In a distant flame
