From the recording Love, What Have You Done?
Lyrics
Well, I make it through each day now, a little better than the last
But when the sun starts its going down, what rises is the past
And with nothing there before me, but a long and lonesome night
And a bottle on the counter, I’m in a losing fight
When the whiskey calls your name, fanning embers into flame
Then I burn for your touch, I miss you so much
When the whiskey calls your name
Why a man would trade a woman’s love for the lies inside a glass?
Is a question I can’t answer
Even though it’s come to pass
You’ve heard me say a million times that we’ll work it out somehow
But I’m just going through the motions, that’s all the pain allows
When the whiskey calls your name, fanning embers into flame
Then I burn for your touch, I miss you so much
When the whiskey calls your name
And there’s no place to hide from a fire smoldering inside
When the ashes grow cold, then there’s nothing left to hold
When the whiskey calls your name, fanning embers into flame
Then I burn for your touch, I miss you so much
When the whiskey calls your name
When the whiskey calls your name, fanning embers into flame
Then I burn for your touch, I miss you so much
When the whiskey calls your name
