Abilene From Abilene

Lyric: Kevin Reardon; Music: Kevin Reardon & Midas Writers; Copyright 2010

Verse
Well, my baby’s something special and Abilene’s her home
She’s a Texas girl; a Lone Star pearl from her head down to her toes
Her mama named her Abilene because she loves that place
And now that she’s my darling, I could never stay away

Chorus
From my Abilene from Abilene
She’s my pretty baby and the only girl for me
Thump-da-thump, my poor heart jumps
Every time I think about my Abilene from Abilene

Verse
The girls I’ve known in Texas, they’re as pretty as can be
The one I love is my sweet dove and she lives in Abilene
Her eyes as blue as the Texas sky; her smile out shines the stars
And when she winks and wiggles, I completely fall apart

Chorus
Oh, my Abilene from Abilene
She’s my pretty baby and the only girl for me
Thump-da-thump, my poor heart jumps
Every time I think about my Abilene from Abilene

Bridge
Some say that it’s confusing but I don’t think that’s true
I find it quite amusing when I think about my one love, I get two

Verse
I lived in Dallas, Amarillo, Houston, Austin, San Antoine
I loved each one and I had my fun but I’ve finally found my home
It’s that town out in The Big Country where my Abilene awaits
And her love’s as big as Texas, so I got no need to stray

Chorus
From my Abilene from Abilene
She’s my pretty baby and the only girl for me
Thump-da-thump, my poor heart jumps
Every time I think about my Abilene from Abilene
Oh, Abilene; my Abilene; oh, Abilene; Abilene
